Who we are
Blackboxed makes online escape rooms at blackboxedgames.com and on each case’s own website. You can reach us at support@blackboxedgames.com.
What we collect
Your email address, when you ask for a case code, sign in, join our list or write to us.
Game records: your code, the callsign you choose, your progress, hints used, time and result.
Messages you send through our contact form.
Technical data: your IP address, used only to stop people from abusing our email system, and small cookies that keep you signed in, tie a case code to one computer, and remember that you already saw the intro.
How we use it
To send your codes, run your case, save your results and stars, answer your messages, and, only if you asked for it, tell you when a new case opens. We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.
Payments
When you buy a key, the payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card details. Stripe tells us the email, the amount and whether the payment went through, and for gifts we keep the friend’s email and your note so we can send the key. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to the payment details you give them.
Where it lives
Your data is stored with our hosting provider, Hostinger, and our emails are sent from our own mailbox.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Write to us and we’ll send you a copy of your data or delete it.
Children
Blackboxed is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
